So my sisters '04 Corolla doesn't want to shift out of reverse. I just did a little but of digging and I think it could either be something with the gear selector itself or the valve body possibly? Any ideas?

Brake selector switch thing? I can't think of the name but the thing that indicates when the brake is pressed so you can change gears?

That wasn't it, this thing just feel off and is now being held on by a small piece of coathanger

My friend one had an auto that would not shift no matter what we did. Turned out a penny was lodged near the floor shifter and causing it to get stuck. LOL.
